About Me
Starting with the basics
My name is Mykhaylo Ivanovych Kuzma. That's a bit of a mouthful, so everyone just calls me Misha.
I'm a University student in the Geomatics program of the University of Waterloo, which is in Ontario, Canada.
I am very fortunate to be able to go the UW, and I hope that I can use my time with the University to enter a career in geomatics.

Skills
I spend a lot of time trying to improve my skills in the hopes that they may be used in a professional setting.
I currently spend a good portion of free time doing programming. Right now, I am doing programming in Python, but I have used C++ in the past. I like Python because of how widespread it has grown to be, and how intuitive it feels to program using it. I am also learning HTML and CSS so that I may assist in an extracurricular project for the University of Waterloo's chapter of Geographers Without Borders.
I also dedicate time to language learning. At the moment, I'm working on becoming fluent in French, but at the moment I can read and write with some level of confidence. I hope that I can improve my speaking and pronunciation in the future. I was also born in Ukraine, and have spent some time learning Russian.
I love to write. Whether i'm writing a blog, a journal entry, or a short story, I love being able to write down what i'm thinking about. I've even won an award from Polar Publications for one of my short stories, which has led to it being published in their collection "Wherever We Roam." I like to use writing as a venue for expressing what I have noticed around me. For instance, I like to write down patterns I've noticed and essays that argue a viewpoint that I've thought of.
I like working with people, and can be both an effective team leader and team member. I've worked with large groups of people in both my work experience and volunteering experience. I've worked and volunteered with children, and by doing so, have learned just how important it is to be both patient and understanding when you work with others.
Lastly, I can work hard and put in the amount of work that is required to achieve my goals. I am a big believer in discipline as a big factor in hard work, and have made it a habit to put in work every day to obtain what I wish to see in the future. For instance, I have made it a habit to run for half an hour a day so that I can remain healthy. There are many days where I might not want to do it (such as today on November 22, 2015, as it is snowing) but I run anyway (like I did earlier today). I believe this to be indicative of my willingness to put in work no matter the circumstance.
